Poland and Portugal – MMO case progress

The eleven year Polish MMO – publisher (Repropol) battle currently rests with the appeal court on a technical issue, despite a supreme court ruling in the publishers favour. The hearings were held in the summer and a result is expected soon. In Portugal a publisher (Visapress) win on the principle and fees for copying up to 2015, Cision and Visapress are now fighting over the calculation of subsequent royalties. The issue relates to Cision including a very wide range of content in its proposal, so reducing payments to newspapers.
