Alpine connections - Austrian APA and Swiss SMD/SWISSDOX deal

PDLN members from Switzerland and Austria - SMD/Swissdox and APA-DeFacto - have entered into a bilateral agreement. The cooperation gives users in both countries access to press content from both partners . It allows press publishers to address new customers abroad and raise new revenue from the use of their content from database search and media monitoring. “We have the opportunity to extend our publication portfolio and gain a content competitive edge over our competitors”, says Rüdiger Baumberger, Director Content at APA DeFacto. The partners offer the additional press content in their own markets according to their own business models and local market insights. The additional revenue is distributed equally. This lean cooperation model allows a seamless additional market development beyond the set boundaries of the present single partner markets at no additional costs.

“We are very excited about this opportunity”, says Roberto Nespeca, CEO of SMD/Swissdox and adds: “Our model allows a full cooperation without having to fear to end up competing against each other in our respective markets.” Since both partners share additional revenue equally, they both can focus on serving their customers at their best – and both benefit by the extra sales and coverage.
